India has no single law on recording conversations. Courts have generally accepted recordings made by someone who is part of the conversation (for example R.M. Malkani v. State of Maharashtra, 1973), while intercepting other people’s communications is tightly regulated. Privacy is also a fundamental right (K.S. Puttaswamy, 2017), so publishing or misusing a recording can still create liability — and many workplaces, hospitals and courts prohibit recording outright.

narad.si is designed for personal memory: the saffron LIVE ring is always visible, mute is physical, sensitive places pause automatically, and nothing is uploaded. When in doubt, ask — or mute. This is general information, not legal advice.

Our design target is three days of typical use, or around 30 hours of continuous LIVE listening, from a full charge. The pendant’s own processor only wakes the radio when someone is speaking, which is how it stretches that far. It charges on a magnetic puck that snaps to the back. We’ll publish measured figures before shipping.

Your memories are encrypted on the phone with keys held in its secure hardware, so whoever finds it sees nothing without your passcode or biometrics. If you turned on encrypted backup, restore everything onto a new phone with your recovery key.

If you didn’t, the memories on that phone are gone — that’s the honest trade-off of keeping them off our servers. We’ll remind you to set up a backup during setup, and you can choose not to.

It holds only a short, encrypted buffer of speech that hasn’t reached your phone yet, and it can’t be read without the phone it’s paired to. Remove it from the app and it stops being able to connect.

Yes — iPhone and Android. iOS limits how much work apps can do in the background, so on iPhone some heavier processing (like the evening summary) runs while your phone is charging or the app is open. Your summary is ready by the time you look. The supported-models list will be published at launch.

Completely. Recognition, summaries, search and reminders all run on your phone, so a basement, a flight or a patchy Tier-3 network makes no difference. Only actions you choose — sending a WhatsApp, placing an order, backing up to your own cloud — need a connection.

That’s the point of building it here. Switching between Hindi and English mid-sentence is treated as normal speech, not an error. Names of people and places are learnt from your own contacts and corrections, on your phone. Ten languages are our launch target; we’ll publish accuracy per language before shipping.

You. We don’t receive your audio, transcripts, summaries or voice profiles, so we can’t read them, sell them, train on them or hand them over. We do hold the minimum needed to run a company — your order, your account email and, if you opt in, anonymous crash reports that never contain conversation content. Yes, and properly. Delete a single conversation, everything involving one person, the last ten minutes, or your entire memory. Deletion happens on your phone and is permanent; if you use encrypted backup, it is removed there on the next sync too. You can also export everything first, in open formats.

Running AI on-device does use power. The pendant filters out silence before anything reaches your phone, and heavier work is scheduled for when you’re charging. We’ll publish real-world battery impact on popular phones before launch — not just a best case.

Continuous model updates (better Hinglish, new languages, sharper summaries), integrations as they ship, encrypted backup tooling and support. Your existing memories remain yours — readable, searchable and exportable — whether or not you renew.

The target rating is IP54: sweat, rain and splashes are fine. Take it off for showers, swimming and the sea.

Always. Mute with a press-and-hold, or add their voice to your never-remember list so what they say is dropped before it’s written down. The LIVE ring makes sure nobody has to wonder.

A one-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects, honoured across India. Replacement chains, clips and chargers will be sold separately. Full terms will be published before the first units ship.
